HDP youth activist detained in Amed

In Amed, a member of the HDP Youth Council has been detained during a house raid. Since the beginning of November, Turkish security authorities have been on a witch-hunt against opposition youth activists.

Muhsin Acar, a member of the Youth Council of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) was detained during a house raid in the Northern Kurdistan metropolis of Amed (Diyarbakir) on Saturday. Early in the morning, the police stormed his parents' apartment in the Kayapınar district and took Acar into custody. What he is accused of is still unclear.

Since the beginning of November, Turkish security authorities have been on a witch-hunt against oppositional youth activists. Dozens of members of the HDP Youth Council have since been arrested on terror charges.
