A high school student in the Kayapınar urban district of Amed has donated her pocket money to the campaign launched by the municipality in solidarity with the people of Rojava and Sinjar. Sultan Çakmak gave 77 lira to the campaign.
The Kayapınar Municipality’s aid campaign for Rojava, where there are clashes and a continuing embargo, and the people of Sinjar, is continuing to attract support from all quarters. High school student Sultan Çakmak presented the 77 lira she had saved up from her pocket money to Kayapınar Municipality Co-mayor Fatma Arşimet in her office.
Arşimet thanked the student, saying, “I thank our friend for her small but significant gesture, and her family for raising her. The awareness of our people will enable us to overcome all problems.”
Sultan Çakmak said she had been profoundly affected by what she had seen on television and had saved up the 15 liras in pocket money she received from her father every week. She added that she would continue to save up her pocket money in order to contribute.
