HPG guerrilla Abdullah Osmanoğlu commemorated in Stockholm

HPG guerrilla Abdullah Osmanoğlu was commemorated in Stockholm on the first anniversary of his martyrdom.

HPG guerrilla Abdullah Osmanoğlu (Agir Stêrk), who fell martyr together with his comrade Renas Benek (Mehmet Axîn) during the Turkish state airstrike on Medya Defense Zones on 17 December 2018, was commemorated with an event in Stockholm.

The commemoration at the Kurdish Kurdish Community Center in Stockholm began with a minute's silence in memory of the martyrs of revolution.

Kurdish politician Rizgar Dersim said that Osmanoğlu was a successful Kurdish youth who grew up in Europe and did well at school and work. Indeed, Osmanoğlu was working hard with the Kurdish Freedom Movement in 2017.

During his time in Sweden, he worked selflessly and was involved in the organization of protests and demonstrations. Osmanoğlu then voluntarily joined the guerrilla ranks in the mountains of Kurdistan in order to bring his struggle against the Turkish state and colonial powers to a different level.

Rizgar Dersim emphasized the importance of the protection of the memory of the Kurdish youth like Osmanoğlu and all martyrs at a time in which the Turkish state increased its attacks on the Kurdish Freedom Movement and the Kurdish people.

A video was screened about Osmanoğlu's life and struggle.
