HPG guerrillas commemorated in Bielefeld

A memorial event was held in Bielefeld for two HPG guerrillas who fell as martyrs.

A memorial event was held in Bielefeld, Germany, in memory of martyred HPG guerrillas Agir Stêrk (Abdullah Osmanoğlu) and Mehmet Axîn (Renas Benek). The memorial, which started with a minute's silence, continued with a video screening.

Speaking at the event, Abdullah Osmanoğlu' uncle said: "Although Abdullah grew up in Europe, he wanted to stand up and fight for his country and people.

He never saw himself outside of the resistance of his people and the response to the fascist Turkish state's extermination attacks."

Abdullah Osmanoğlu' uncle continued: "Abdullah went with determination and wanted to take an active role in the struggle and be a part of this revolution and he was. I feel deep sorrow for our loss, but at the same time I am proud of Abdullah's path to honor. The martyrs of Kurdistan illuminate our way. We sincerely and gratefully remember them."

Guerrillas Osmanoğlu and Benek were martyred on 17 December 2018 as a result of the Turkish army's air strikes on Medya Defense Zones.
