HPG on AKP Kulp chair Çelik

People’s Defense Forces (HPG) Main Headquarters Command released a statement on AKP Kulp district chair Veysel Çelik who was taken into custody by HPG guerrillas during road control on 12 May.

HPG announced that Çelik has been arrested and sternly warned AKP administrators; “The executives of the fascist government shall be judged”.

Giving information about the guerrilla action on 12 May, HPG noted that the Turkish army operation in the area still continues since the action of a group of guerrillas who stopped 50 cars and made id controls besides arresting AKP Kulp district Chair and village guard head Veysel Çelik.

HPG Main Headquarters Command also reminded of an earlier statement by KCK Supreme Court of Justice and underlined that; “Crime of betrayal is committed by those who make common cause with the Turkish state and the AKP government in the context of the dirty policies implemented in Kurdistan. It is a great crime against humanity to give an effort to destroy the presence of a people for personal and domestic benefits. In the face of the exposed slaughter policies in Kurdistan, it is the duty of HPG to impose sanctions on those who take an active part in AKP and Turkish state’s war policies.”

Noting that Çelik will be judged by HPG authorities, the statement added that “AKP administrators should abandon the hostility towards Kurds as they also will otherwise share the same aftermath with Veysel Çelik who has actively supported the slaughter and destruction policies that the Kurdish people have been subject to.”
