The weekly sit-in action by IHD Diyarbakir Branch and relatives of disappeared people witnessed a strong reaction to the decision by the Election Board to strip Diyarbakir MP Hatip Dicle of his mandate. Appealing to the authorities, IHD Diyarbakýr Branch Secretary Raci Bilici said; "Do not prevent the freewill of people and the democratization of this country. The only task you need to fulfil is let people entering the parliament, to release the political prisoners and to open the way for a solution to all problems through peaceful ways."
Speaking at the sit-in IHD Diyarbakýr Branch Secretary Raci Bilici said the followings; "In the year 1994, Hatip Dicle and his colleagues were thrown out from the parliament and put in prison. We are in the year 2011 now; 17 years passed and within this period thousands of people have died, murdered by unidentified perpetrators, disappeared and very big prices have been paid; and Hatip Dicle and his colleagues are still in prison. Despite so much time, the mentality of the rulers of this country has still not changed. The mentality of war and conflict is still maintained by the government, and this extremely terrifies us."
