Political prisoners in the H-type Prison in Erzurum have initiated a hunger strike in order to protest the policies of the AKP government regarding the ongoing and intensified attacks of ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and al Sham) gangs on the Kobanê town of West Kurdistan, Rojava.

Issuing a statement via their lawyers, the prisoners said that the form of the hunger strike will change according to the approach of the government. For now, they are to carry on a continuous 3 day hunger strike by rote.

The prisoners called on the people to take ownership of the resistance in Kobanê and to be united.
