Day 108 of the indefinite hunger strike of 14 Kurdish activists in Strasbourg, France.
14 Kurdish activists have been on an indefinite hunger strike in Strasbourg, France since 17 December 2018.
14 Kurdish activists joined the indefinite hunger strike campaign demanding the end of the isolation imposed by the AKP-MHP fascism on Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan. The resistance was first started by DTK Co-chair and HDP MP Leyla Güven on 7 November 2018, who was later joined by thousands of political prisoners in Turkey as well as dozens of activists in Turkey, Kurdistan, Europe and all around the world.
The resistance of the Strasbourg activists continues with determination despite their deteriorating health. Doctors issued a warning that the activists could permanently lose several organs and are in danger due to possible cardiac complications.
Kurds from all around Europe are coming to Strasbourg to visit the activists and express their solidarity with their demand. The activists are spending almost the entire day in bed due to their health issues.
The indefinite and non-alternating hunger strike in Strasbourg is joined by the following activists; Gülistan İke, Dilek Öcalan, Nurgül Başaran, Mustafa Sarıkaya, Mehmet Nimet Sevim, Deniz Sürgüt, Kardo Bokani, Ekrem Yapıcı, Ayvaz Ece, Agit Ural, Ramazan İmir, Mohamad Ghaderi, Kerem Solhan and Yüksel Koç.
