Hunger strikers in Strasbourg in high spirit

The activists are determined to continue their action until they get results.

The hunger strike in Strasbourg to demand the end of the isolation regime imposed on Abdullah Ocalan has entered day 11.

The hunger strike is carried out at the Democratic Society Center in Strasbourg and strikers are visited by many Kurdish and European people.

The morale of activists who are under medical control 24 hours a day is high. They are determined to continue their action until they get results. Part of the center is reserved for the activists to avoid any health problems in the future.

Dr. Fahrettin Gulsen gave the following information about the health of the hunger strikers: "We check the weight loss registered by strikers every week, and we found losses between three to six kilos. Other tests are normal. We did not encounter any complications, no frightening conditions. But this weight loss is not normal for a 10-day period."

Another section of the center has been reserved to members of the press. Here journalists are working hard. Activists are being invited to live broadcasts. Televisions and print media are constantly following the action.

Due to the Christmas holiday, the official institutions in the city are closed.

The Freedom for Ocalan Vigil continues as it has continued for 6 years. The Vigil demands freedom for Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

FEDA executives and Alevi leaders, as well as activists from the French cities of Creil and Marseille and the German cities of Koblenz, Mainz and Stuttgart have been visiting the hunger strikers.
