About 40 hunger strikers held a demonstration in front of the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT) on Monday in order to draw attention to the ongoing hunger strikes to protest againbst the isolation of Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Fifteen people have been on an indefinite hunger strike without turns since March 1 to protest the isolation of Öcalan and to demand a political status for the Kurds as another group of 40 have been continuing an indefinite hunger strike with turns in Strasbourg.

The hunger strikers who presented files to the embassies of Netherlands, Belgium, Slovenia, Germany, United Kingdom and Denmark will hold another action tomorrow in front of the CPT building.
