ICOR team goes to Kobanê on behalf of humanity

International Coordination of Revolutionary Parties and Organizations (ICOR) continues its efforts to support the reconstruction of Kobanê canton that had been destroyed due to ISIS attacks.

International Coordination of Revolutionary Parties and Organizations (ICOR) team that had been formed in order to establish a health center in Kobanê met with people from Kurdistan and their allies in the Kurdish Society Center in the town of Wuppertal in Germany. Organized by MLPD, the well-attended meeting began with a moment of silence to honor the people who lost their lives in the struggle for democracy and freedom. Wuppertal Kurdish Society Center Co-president Savcı Azar made the opening speech and expressed his gratitude for the solidarity of German allies after the attacks against Kurdish people in Rojava.

'TURKISH ADMINISTRATION IS READY TO ATTACK KURDS'

MLPD Vice-president Monika Görtner also spoke to ANF and said that they viewed Kobanê as the symbol of women’s and men’s united struggle (YPJ/YPG) as well as the struggle against ISIS.

Görtner said that ICOR viewed all of its efforts for Kobanê as duties for humanity and called upon Turkey to open solidarity corridors for Kobanê. Görtner stated that the technical equipments they had sent to Kobanê were being held at the Turkish border and criticized the Turkish state’s hindrance of aid flow. Görtner said that all of these policies were part of the war that is waged in the region and stated that they would continue their solidarity and resistance.

Gürtner recalled the objection of the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to the formation of a Kurdish administration in Rojava and said that Erdoğan was ready to attack the cantons. Gürtner criticized the Turkish support for ISIS and called upon Erdoğan to celebrate the gains and the unity of the Kurdish administration in Rojava.

Gürtner said that Erdoğan’s disapproval of ISIS activities would be more meaningful if Erdoğan opened the border for the flow of aid into Kobanê.

'WE ARE GOING TO KOBANÊ ON BEHALF OF HUMANITY AND FREEDOM'

Mechanic technician Anna G. who will be going to Kobanê said that they were going to the city on behalf humanity, freedom and solidarity. Anna G. stated that they were not content with only protesting ISIS brutality and decided to establish a health center in Kobanê in order to put their solidarity into practice and stand with Kurdish people against ISIS gangs. Anna G. said that they were going to offer vocation education to Kobanê residents and the event ended with a musical performance of German artists and an iftar dinner in Ehmedê Xanî mosque.
