Police took Imam (religious leader) Seydayê Melle Yasin into custody without any charge following Civil Friday Prayers in Musa Anter Park in Ceylanpýnar, a district of Urfa.
The Friday Civil Prayer is part of the series of civil disobedience actions organized by BDP (Peace and Democracy Party) and DTK (Democratic Society Congress) to reiterate Kurds four demands: rights to education in their mother tongue, an end to the military and political operations against Kurdish people, the release of political prisoners and the lowering of the 10 percent election threshold.
