Inflation reaches 11.86 per cent in March

Consumer prices rose in March and annual inflation reached 11.86 percent. The annual increase in producer prices was 8.50 percent.

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜIK) announced today that consumer prices in Turkey went up 11.86 percent in March compared to the same month last year.

The highest price rise last month was seen in alcoholic beverages and tobacco, with an increase of 40.19 percent on a yearly basis.

On the other hand, domestic producer prices increased by 0.87 percent in March compared to the previous month, thus the annual increase in domestic producer prices became 8.50 percent.

While the three-month increase in domestic producer prices rose to 3.22 percent, the increase compared to the averages of twelve months was calculated as 12.61 percent.
