Ferhat Encü, brother of seventeen year old Roboski victim Serhat Encü, was taken into custody in Ankara early on Saturday morning. Encü’s detention is reported to be within the scope of the “attempted intentional murder” investigation launched for the attack on Uludere governor during the funeral ceremony of 34 victims of Roboski massacre on 28 December 2011.
Ferhat Encü was taken into custody in Ankara before joining the press statement planned for today by Democratic Constitutional Movement. Encü is still held at Balgat 10 Nisan police station and he will reportedly be forwarded to the courthouse after the completion of procedural acts.
This is the third time university student Ferhat Encü has been taken into custody within the scope of the same investigation. Following his each detention in Uludere on 29 February and in Çukurova University on 10 March, he was released by the prosecutor.
Among eight people who were detained in connection with the attack on Uludere Governor Nafiz Yavuz, five were arrested and sent to Þýrnak Closed Prison for alleged “attempt intentional murder”.
