Once again Iran started to bomb the Kandil region of Ranya in Süleymaniye, which is in the Kurdistan Federal Region of Iraq.

Local sources claimed that they heard a warning: "Leave the region, war is about to begin."

PJAK (Party for a Free Life in Kurdistan) had begun a unilateral ceasefire on 5 September.

Iran has been bombing the Kandil region since 16 July. The military operation was followed by the air assaults by the Turkish state in Southern Kurdistan.
