Iranian Ambassador to Turkey Bahman Hosseinpour is reported to be holding a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdað at the prime minister’s office at the moment.
While the visit is attention-grabbing as the embassy is accepted by the ministry of foreign affairs under usual circumstances, the meeting is thought to be about the joint military operation of Turkey and Iran against the PKK in Turkey and its wink PJAK in Iran.
The development actually doesn’t seem surprising as the Turkish media is recently dominated by news about ‘anti-terrorism’ operations that, according to the general view, need to be intensified to stop the war.
Meanwhile, prime minister Recep Tayyip Erdoðan has once more implied yesterday that a large-scaled operation will be launched against the PKK soon when August, Ramadan month, ends. While Erdoðan’s statements are supported by the general public and media opinion, the government keeps insulting the BDP (Peace and Democracy Party) to act in common with the PKK and the organizations linked to it, such as the KCK (People’s Union of Kurdistan) and the DTK (Democratic Society Congress).
