Iranian army preparing for a land operation

While the Iranian army is reported to be continuing its preparations for a land assault in Kandil, a ground operation is expected to be launched tonight or tomorrow by the Iranian regime.

It has been claimed that Iran will continue the military build-up till September 5 and the land assault will extend to 5-7 kilometers inwards of Southern Kurdistan.

According to reports from local sources, a large number of Iranian soldiers under the command of Hamza Seyudil Þoda Headquarters are moving forward towards Deþta Wezne via the city of Qani Zerde. Reports indicate that the military build-up continues close to the Shaheed Ayhan, Zele, Xakurke regions at the Iranian border line.

While a large number of howitzers, mortars, heavy weapons and soldiers have allegedly been deployed at the Seyudil Þoda Headquarters in Serdeþt District of Urmia, Basij militia forces of the Iranian army are reported to be progressing to the border. According to information received from sources of village guards within the Iranian army, the extensive land operation will begin on September 5.

It has also been claimed that the Government of Iraq has signed an agreement with the Federal Kurdistan Government and Iran on an operation extending from the Iranian border to about seven kilometers towards the Xinere-Xakurke line and five kilometers towards the Kandil line.

According to the agreement, peshmergas under the Federal Kurdistan Public Security Forces have informed the people in some villages, which will be included within the Iranian operation area, and warned them to leave their villages in Xakurke and Xinere regions for some time.
