The Ministry of Intelligence of the Islamic Republic of Iran stated that the attackers that targeted the parliament building and religious leader Ayatollah Khomeini’s tomb in capital city Tehran yesterday were Iranian citizens.

Accordingly, the attackers joined ISIS on various dates and turned back to Iran under the command of a leader by the name of Abû Aysha after a period of fighting in Mosul and Raqqa, while Abû Aysha fled later on.

The Ministry stated that names of the attackers were Ramin, Siryas, Feridûn, Keyyum and Ebû Cehad, and did not disclose their last names and registry for “security reasons”. According to the Ministry, a female suspect has been taken into custody in connection with the attacks.

While six people were reported killed during yesterday’s attacks in Tehran, it grabs attention that the name of one of them has not been disclosed.
