Iraq closes border with Syria

Iraqi Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, Qais Mohammedavi announced that Iraq's border with Syria has been completely closed. “Iraqi security forces have the capacity to protect the country and are ready to face any threat,” Qais Mohammadawi said.
The decision to close the border was taken after the attacks on Aleppo by the Turkish state-affiliated Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) gangs.
