Iraqi politician Essed el-Ebadi stated that Iraq remains incapable to respond to Turkey's intervention and stressed that national forces must unite against Turkey’s intervention.
Iraqi politician Eseed el-Ebadi spoke to ANHA news agency about Turkey's intervention in Iraq. Ebadi stressed that the Iraqi government remains ineffectual to counter Turkey's intervention, attributing it to KDP's support to Turkey.
“KDP ENDORSES TURKEY”
Noting that Turkey enters the Iraqi soil under the pretext of fighting the PKK, Ebadi suggested that “The Iraqi government remains extremely weak when it comes to Turkey. KDP's economic ties with Turkey force the KDP to support the Turkish state. The KDP roots for Turkey because it cannot risk the trade volume of billion dollars.”
“UNITY AGAINST TURKEY NEEDED”
Drawing attention to the unification of the forces in Iraq, Ebadi noted that the future of the region could change if unity is realized. Emphasizing that Iran, Turkey and the states in the Arabian Peninsula interfered in Iraq's internal affairs, Ebadi continued; "What is expected from the political formations in Iraq is to unite. The termination of regional interventions depends on the establishment of this unity. In particular, national forces outside the ruling bloc should lead this. It is in everyone's common interest to take this historic responsibility."
Ebadi concluded his words as follows: “A national congress in Baghdad where Arab-Kurdish relations will be discussed should be held as soon as possible. It is essential to develop a strategic program in all historical, political and social issues and act accordingly against the intervention of the Turkish state.”
