At least 45 members of pro-regime forces were killed as a result of attacks carried out by ISIS against Syrian military to the east of Syria since Sunday.
Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported that the “Islamic State” organization continues its attack against the regime forces for the second consecutive day, targeting the regime forces and their allies of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities in the west of Euphrates River.
According to SOHR, ISIS carried out successive and sporadic attacks in order to confuse the regime and their allies, and to strain their forces and members. The ISIS’ attacks reached a front of about 100 km along the west banks of Euphrates River in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor province.
SOHR said that ISIS managed to control towns and areas on the west banks of the river and created a place for itself, and what contributed in that was regime’s inability to recover what it lost in a direct counterattack, in addition to the fact that the Russian warplanes have not been actively involved in supporting the regime and pushing the attack of the regime and its allies.
The violent clashes have claimed the lives of more members of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them. the number of their casualties during ISIS attacks from al-Boleel to the west of al-Bokamal rose to 45, as reported by SOHR.
SOHR said clashes also caused the killing of at least 26 members of the ISIS. After this attack, ISIS was able to close the road of Deir ez-Zor–al-Bokamal, and paralyze the movement of the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities.
In the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor at the west of Euphrates River, the clashes have also injured tens of others, and reports are coming through of prisoners from both parties.
