The second wife of M., who has been living on state benefits for years in Switzerland, 28 year old Syrian Fatimah A. was detained in Arsal, Lebanon as she was preparing for a suicide bombing.
The police has received some criticism for not taking action, even though there were complaints about M.
According to Swiss Sonntagzeitung newspaper, M. was engaged in pro-ISIS efforts in the Es Selam Mosque in Wil and moved on to An’Nur Mosque in Winterthur when there were complaints. M. has an ongoing case for domestic violence against his previous wife and has been convicted of smuggling.
The An’Nur Mosque where M. was active is infamous for meetings with ISIS propaganda aimed for recruitment.
Some administrators in the An’Nur Mosque have been arrested for recruiting for ISIS and encouraging child brides in sermons. Sandro V. is known as the “emir of the mosque”. He has several convictions for fraud and an ongoing investigation for aiding people to go into Syria.
