Jailed conscience objector sent letter to PM

Jailed conscience objector Ýnan Süver has written a letter to Turkish Prime Minister. He has became the voice of more than 400 conscientious objectors who are organizing in the Conscientious Objectors Platform for Peace and Kurdish Conscientious Objectors Movement in Turkey.

Süver letter was read at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. It says: “Being born in Turkey, being named as Ýnan, being identified as a Muslim and a Turk even though I’m a Kurd, were not my choices. Your saying “Every Turk is born as soldier” is not my beliefs. I neither was born as Turk nor like being a soldier".

According to information, 118 out of conscientious objectors are still under investigation, while Süver in the Balikesir-Kepsut Prison since August 5, 2010. Süver has faced many brutal implementations since he publicly announced his objection in 2009. And now, he is on hunger strike for 31 days to protest solitary confinement. Prison administration insisted on keeping him in a cell for long periods. And now he is asking for help to change his cell to see other inmates before having mental health problems
