The resistance of the Şenyaşar family continues. The family urged prosecutors to aplly the laws, not political instructions.
63 days have passed since Emine Şenyaşar began her protest outside the courthouse in the city of Urfa. The mother continues her “Justice Vigil” at home since April 30 due to the country-wide lockdown.
"Prosecutor must follow laws and not political dictates"
Via Twitter, the family spread the picture and the report about the ambulance that was attacked by a mob of AKP members.
The tweet says: "Where is the Ministry of Justice? Convince us that there is 'justice' in Turkey. The prosecution should apply the laws and not follow political dictates. Finally convict those who committed this crime against humanity in a state hospital."
The tweet points to the murder of Celal and Adil Şenyaşar in the hospital. The two brothers had been beaten to death in the hospital by a mob of relatives of AKP MP Halil Yıldız. The father, Haci Esvet (67), was also beaten to death with an oxygen cylinder, among other things, when he visited the hospital. The CCTV footage is under secrecy and none of the perpetrators has been caught yet.
The Suruç murders
The murders at the hospital were preceded by an AKP attack on the Şenyaşar family's store. On June 24, 2018, a campaign tour of MP Halil Yıldız visited the district of Suruç. The AKP MP entered the family's store with his bodyguards and demanded that those present vote for him. When the family members protested, the bodyguards opened fire. Several family members were injured, and Celal and Adil Şenyaşar were seriously injured and taken to Suruç Hospital. Subsequently, the murders occurred at the hospital. Emine Şenyaşar's third son, Fadıl, survived the attack injured but was sentenced to 37 years in prison. On flimsy grounds and without a ballistics investigation, he was charged with the murder of MP Halil Yıldız's son. According to eyewitnesses, he was killed by a ricochet of the bodyguards' gunfire.
