Kartal: Kurds have the experience and power to repel the attacks

Kartal said that Erdoğan's escalation of the war deepened the economic crisis and accelerated the exit of the AKP itself from the political scene.

The Democratic Kurdish Community Center has organised a meeting in the Swedish Borlänge province to discuss the latest developments in Turkey and Rojava.

Speaking at the meeting, KONGRA-GEL Co-Chair, Remzi Kartal, said that the aim of the Turkish state, which has intensified its threats and attacks recently, is to prevent Kurds from gaining status and to intimidate them.

Recalling that the Turkish state faced strong resistance and suffered heavy losses, Kartal noted that Erdoğan's escalation of the war deepened the economic crisis and accelerated the exit of the AKP itself from the political scene .

Kartal added that despite the repression and attacks carried out by the Turkish state, the Kurdish people continue to resist and refuse to bend. "Our people - he said - have the experience and power to repel these attacks".

Referring to the isolation imposed on Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan, Kartal criticized the Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT) and the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) for their silence on the Turkish state's violation of international conventions.

Kartal ended his remarks by stressing that the Kurdish people and their friends will not remain silent in the face of the United States decision to target three PKK executives and in the face of the isolation imposed on Öcalan.
