KCD-E: European community should reject the PKK ban
The Kurdish Democratic Society Congress in Europe (KCD-E) has, on the 36th anniversary of the founding of the PKK, called on the international community to reject the 21-year ban on the party.
The KCD-E issued a statement on the occasion of the 36th anniversary of the founding of the party, saying: "After a 36-year struggle in which thousands fell, world democratic public opinion has realised the honourable role played by the PKK in the struggle of the people of Kurdistan”.
The KCD-E said that the PKK had gained the appreciation of the world with its ‘heroic resistance’ from Kirkuk to Makhmur and from the South to Rojava and Kobanê, adding that the PKK would continue to be the hope of all those seeking democracy and freedom.
The KCD-E statement concluded by calling on the Kurdish people to take ownership of the Kobanê resistance, and on public opinion in Europe to reject the ban on the PKK which has been in place for 21 years. It also called for protests against this unjust ban.
