KHRAG: ISIS targets the cultural richness of the region
The chairperson of the Kurdish Human Rights Action Group (KHRAG) in South Africa, Judge Essa Moosa, issued a written statement condemning the ongoing attacks of the ISIS gangs on the Kobanê town of West Kurdistan.
The KHRAG statement pointed out that the lands of the Kurds were divided into 4 parts, in 4 different countries, by France and Britain, while also emphasizing that the cause of the horrific tragedy the Kurdish society is suffering from today is the imperialists and colonialists and their plans which have divided Kurdistan into 4 pieces.
The statement of the KHRAG put emphasis on the fact that the ISIS gangs have increased their terrorist activities in recent days in order to seize and destroy the richness of the region, adding: “when the imperialist powers are not satisfied with the democratic process, they are destroying the region and the system in order to overwhelm the choice of the people and in order to create instability in the region.” It noted that the religious minorities in the north of Syria are also under the threat of the ISIS gangs.
Emphasizing that the policies of the USA have killed many people in recent years, the statement said: “the alliances of the USA, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar are the direct supporters of these foreign mercenaries.”
The statement also underlined that the international powers must intervene in order to protect the peace, security and the democratic values in the region.
