Kiye: I will work to grant Kurdish language rights in parliament

Havin Kiye, one of the candidates of the Green Left Party in Van, said that she will fight for the constitutional guarantee of Kurdish as an official language and the right to education in one's mother tongue.

One of the young candidates of the Green Left Party, is the 7th candidate in Van, Havin Kiye. She said that she would continue her struggle for the political representation of the Kurdish language and Kurdish culture in the Assembly.

The Green Left Party aims to win all 8 deputies in Van. Kiye, who has a BA in Kurdish Language and Literature and an MA in Kurdish Language and Culture, said that she attaches importance to the political representation of the Kurdish language and Kurdish culture. She added that she would fight for the constitutional guarantee of Kurdish as an official language and for the right to education in one's mother tongue, if she was elected as a deputy. She underlined that Kurdish artists cannot benefit from state and public resources fairly despite paying taxes and added that they have many main goals and objectives, such as making use of these resources for Kurdish artists.

Havin Kiye

Havin Kiye was born in 1994 in the village of Narlı in Şax (Çatak) district of Van (Wan). She graduated from Mardin Artuklu University, Department of Kurdish Language and Literature. She got her master's degree at the Institute of Living Languages in Turkey, Department of Kurdish Language and Culture, and completed it in 2022. Kiye continued her undergraduate education at Ankara University, Faculty of Language, History and Geography, Department of Persian Language and Literature. Kiye works as a sworn Kurdish translator.
