The German Confederation of Mesopotamian Societies (KON-MED) issued a written statement calling on people to join the 7000 meters, 7000 people Human Chain actions to be held on 11 May in Düsseldorf.

KON-MED said: “As the hunger strike demanding the end of isolation against Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Öcalan continues, different actions are carried out in solidarity with the hunger strike resistance.”

KON-MED is organising a Human Chain action to be held in Düsseldorf to draw attention to the critical stage and the consequences of the hunger strike.

“There is a people in resistance. - said the statement - Our people do not accept isolation. They want Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan to live free and be able to work. We have to support the hunger strike and death fast in prisons.” 

In order to step up “our line of action, - added the statement - and act with all our make what is in our hands to prevent death, we must increase our actions. Therefore we call on 7000 activists to join the 7000 Metres human chain to be held in Düsseldorf on 11 May.”
