KON-MED’s May Day message: Unite to change the system of exploitation

KON-MED called for stronger resistance against exploitation, racism, discrimination, and war policies on May Day.

The Confederation of Kurdish Democratic Community Centers in Germany (KON-MED) issued a statement on the occasion of the upcoming May Day.

The KON-MED statement on Tuesday includes the following:

"On May Day, the day of struggle for labour, equality, and freedom, we salute all workers, labourers, and oppressed peoples. As KON-MED, we raise our voices against the capitalist system of exploitation, against racism, discrimination, and war policies. Today, we are living through a time in which not only our labour but also our identity, culture, and freedom are being targeted. The Kurdish people and all democratic forces continue to resist by standing together against repression.

While the rights of workers are being pushed back in Germany and across the world, we call for greater solidarity, organisation, and struggle. As the KON-MED executive board, together with our federation administrations, our councils, our components, wherever we are organised in Germany, and together with all our patriotic people, friends, and all those who stand for peace and democracy, we will be in the streets on May Day. May Day is a day for unity and change! Let us strengthen the struggle against racism, exploitation, and injustice. Shoulder to shoulder for the freedom of labour, equality of peoples, and peace!"
