On Wednesday morning, police arrested Kurdish activist Zana Sili and took him to Frankfurt airport. Sili is facing immediate deportation to Turkey.

Kurdish activist Zana Sili from Kassel is threatened with deportation to Turkey. On Wednesday morning, 19 April, police arrested the politically persecuted Kurd in Kassel and took him directly to Frankfurt airport. Reports say that he is to be deported to Turkey within the next few hours, where he faces imprisonment and worse.

Sili first applied for political asylum in Germany in January 2022 and has been working full-time as a cook for six months.

"We demand an immediate stop to deportation and political asylum for Zana Sili! We ask everyone to go to Frankfurt airport immediately and support him," demand activists who support Sili and call for solidarity.
