The Kurdish Revolutionary Youth Movement (Tevgera Ciwanên Şoreşger) collected signatures as part of the ongoing campaign to remove the PKK from the "terrorist organizations" lists of the EU and the US.
The young activists attended a meeting organized by the New Anti-Capitalist Party (NPA) during which they discussed with participants about delisting the PKK.
The signature booth set up by the activists in the meeting hall drew intense interest. Leaflets on why the PKK should be removed from the list and the books of Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan were displayed at the booth.
The campaign, initiated by 29 intellectuals and a thousand initial signatories at the end of last year, is expected to last several months and aims to collect four million signatures worldwide. The signatures are to be sent to the Council of Europe and to the corresponding institutions responsible for the "terror list" in the US. They will also serve as a reference for members of national parliaments and put the issue on the agenda of country parliaments. The petition can be signed online. In addition, the campaign is being promoted on the streets worldwide.
