Kurdish Association of Ireland on indefinite hunger strike continues

Members of the Kurdish Association of Ireland are on the ninth day of their hunger strike outside the European Union House in Dublin.

On the hunger strike started on 88th anniversary of the Lausanne treaty of 1923, which officially divided Kurdistan into four parts between Turkey, Iran, Iraq, and Syria, members of the Association demand that the Lausanne treaty gets revoked and the Kurdish people get their rights of selfdetermination. The strike is also protesting the ongoing invasion of Kurdistan by Iranian Revolution Guards, which started on July 16 and continued so far with violent clashes.

The hunger strikers demand the revocation of Lausanne Treaty and the full recognition of Kurds to self-determination by international laws.

The members of the Association also strongly condemn the recent Iranian invasion of South Kurdistan and call on the European Union to break its silence against the situation and to take a stance against the oppression of Kurdistan at the hands of the occupiers.
