People from Kurdistan and their friends in Germany gathered yesterday in front of the Cologne Cathedral and carried out a protest of a different kind to draw attention to the aggravated isolation imposed on Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

During the protest event, which attracted the notice of a great number of Germans and tourists as well, slogans like "No life without Apo", "With our soul and blood we are with you, our leader" and "Long live Leader Apo" were constantly chanted. The protestors also put together a puzzle of 99 pieces that read "Freedom for Öcalan".

The Kurdish Women's Union in Europe (YJK-E) held a speech during the event focusing on the isolation of Öcalan.

The speech remarked that there was no place for isolation in any judiciary system and that everyone needed to raise their voices against the situation of the Kurdish leader.

The rally ended after the performance of musicians from the Mesopotamian Democratic Culture and Art Movement (TEV-ÇAND).
