Kurdish students boycott schools in France for Afrin’s children

Hundreds of Kurdish students have boycotted schools in Paris and other French cities, and a demonstration was staged in front of the UNICEF office in Paris for children from Afrin.

Answering the call of Democratic Kurdish Council of France (CDK-F), Kurdish Women’s Movement in France and Women’s Platform for Afrin in Paris, hundreds of Kurdish families have not sent their children to schools on Tuesday in order to call attention to the massacre of children in Afrin Canton of Northern Syria under genocidal attacks from the Turkish army and allied jihadist groups derived from ISIS, Al-Nusra and Al-Qaeda.

Students presented a notice about the purpose of the boycott to school managements and refused to attend classes.

DEMONSTRATION IN FRONT OF UNICEF OFFICE

Hundreds of families marched to the UNICEF office in Paris Tuesday afternoon. Holding banners that read “Your silence kills us”, children chanted “We are all children from Afrin” and “Murderer Erdoğan” during the demonstration.

Children read out a letter they wrote to the children of Afrin and gave the message “Children of Afrin are not alone”.

A delegation from the Women’s Platform for Afrin in Paris and children submitted a file on the massacre of children in Afrin to the UNICEF officials who stated that all institutions issued calls and statements against the massacre of children in Afrin, and that their works for humanitarian assistance continue.

The demonstration in front of the UNICEF Office lasted two hours and ended with the slogan “Everywhere Afrin, everywhere resistance”.
