Kurdish unionist sentenced to 5 years in Sanandaj
The First Branch of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Revolutionary Court in Sanandaj in Eastern Kurdistan has sentenced Kurdish labour activist Wafa Qaderi to 5 years in prison. Qaderi was sentenced on charges of attempting to “illegally organise workers” and threatening the “territorial integrity of Iran”.
Demanding the right of the Kurdish people often lead to activists being charged with threatening the territorial integrity of Iran.
Qaderi was arrested together with 4 other Kurdish activists by the names of Khalid Husseini, Behzad Ferjolai, Ali Azadi and Hamid Mahmodnejad. The other four men have not been sentenced yet
