Kurdish woman attacked in Brussels: He came to behead me like ISIS

66 years old Kurdish woman Sultan Uğraş who was stabbed by AKP supporters in Belgium capital Brussels Thursday evening said: “The man who targeted me attacked like ISIS”.

66 years old Kurdish woman Sultan Uğraş, who was one of those targeted by an AKP mob in a knife attack in front of the Turkish Consulate in Brussels Thursday evening, continues receiving treatment at hospital. It came out yesterday that the AKP mob was organised and led by a Turkish citizen by the name of Mehmet Gargılı, a close man of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Sultan Uğraş who got injured on the throat and armpit spoke to ANF about the details of the attack in front of the Turkish Consulate where they were going to cast their votes for 16 April's referendum in Turkey;

“Me and a few friends were talking outside the Consulate as three people with flags in their hands kept staring at us. We moved a bit backward to avoid a provocation, after which they came near us and stuck 'Yes' notes upon the 'No' notes on the poles near us. I told them to 'go and stick them somewhere else'. They later attacked us. Their goal in doing that was to create provocation and attack us. They had knives in their hands and they attacked our friends. There was a young one among the assailants. He saw me standing alone on the street, came near me and then attacked me. He sat on my feet and started to batter me. He continued it until my body was drenched in blood. I did not know what to do as he kept sitting on my body and hitting me with a knife. He came just like ISIS, to behead me. He later stabbed me on the throat, and then on armpit, shedding my blood like a water bath. Then came an ambulance to the scene and brought me to hospital. I will remain here and receive treatment for one week.”

Uğraş stressed that such attacks will never intimidate her, saying; "Those fascists should be ashamed of themselves. They can never intimidate me. We remain standing and we will continue our struggle. As a mother and woman, I am not afraid of them. We will triumph by marching on the path of our values, our martyrs and Rêber (Leader) Apo. Democracy will triumph. Let's unite against the fascist mindset. I salute all the comrades. We say 'No, No, No'.”
