Kurdish youth movements TCŞ (Revolutionary Youth Movement) and TEKO-JIN (Young Combative Women's Movement) have launched a long march in Paris on Monday to protest at the 22nd anniversary of the February 15, 1999 conspiracy against Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan which led to his deportation from Kenya to Turkey in violation of international law.

The march is organised by as part of the “End Isolation, Fascism, Occupation – Together for Uprising” campaign. Internationalists and Kurdish activists are also taking part in the march.

The action started after the gathering of the activists outside the Democratic Kurdish Community Center in the Grigny region at noon.

A huge banner reading “Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan” was displayed by the activists, as well as posters of Abdullah Öcalan and flags of the TCŞ.

The activists have covered 10 km on the first day of their action in the city center.
