Today the Federal Kurdistan Region Patriotic Youth Movement will begin a three-day march to Kandil and Zap areas, where they will act as human shields in protest of Turkey's onoing aerial bombing campaign, which killed seven civilians on Sunday,.
"We are marching against the invasion of our country, and we are marching against the attacks that our country is being subjected to," said Dana Abdulwahap, spokesperson for the Patriotic Youth Movement. "These attacks are not directed at the Kandil area alone, they are directed against the achievements of all Kurdish people. The Kurdish youth must not remain silent and should be honored to take the responsibility to join this protest march. We cannot be mere spectators while our country is being violated," Abdulwahap concluded.
Youth will gather in front of the Kurdistan Parliament and march from there to the Xakurkê area, youth from Süleymanîye and Germiyan will go to Kandil, and youth from the Behdinan area will march to Zap. The march is expected to take three days. When they arrive at their destinations, the youth will stay in the areas until the military operations end.
