Kurdish youth in France staged a march for the freedom of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan at the anniversary of the international conspiracy of February 15, 1999.
Members of the Ciwanên Azad (Free Youth) and Jinen Ciwanên Azad (Free Young Women) staged a torch march in the French city of Evry to voice their demand for freedom of the Kurdish leader.
Led by the Ciwanên Azad, Zinar Raperin Youth Assembly and Evry Çiçek Botan Women's Assembly, the demonstrators gathered in front of the Municipality of Grigny and marched to the Evry Democratic Kurdish Society Center behind a huge banner that read “Freedom for Öcalan”. Protestors chanted "Bê Serok jiyan nabe" [No Life Without the Leader] and "Freedom for Öcalan” in French.
Kurdish youth made a press statement in front of the Evry Democratic Kurdish Society Center and said "We will enhance our protests until Leader Öcalan is free."
