Kurds celebrate Öcalan’s birthday in Yerevan

Today is the birthday of Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan, celebrated by the Kurds and their friends all around the world.

The 73rd birthday of Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan was celebrated at an event in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, on Monday.

The birthday celebration took place in the Kurdish Community Centre (Mala Gel). Members of the Free Women's Union Jenya Qadir and Seyrana Celad, Şêwra Gelê Kurd Co-Chair and deputy Kınyas Hasanov, Kurdistan Committee Co-Chair Silo Dirboyan and Kurdistan Committee director Şeyh Tahir made speeches to mark the meaning and importance of the day.

The speakers said that “Öcalan’s birthday is the birthday of all of us”. They underlined that the Kurdish people owe their achievements to Öcalan.

Following the speeches, the participants went to the “Leader's Garden” in Oktoberyan Araksi village to plant saplings.
