A demonstration was held in front of the White House in Washington to condemn the abduction, 25 years ago, of Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan as a result of an international conspiracy. Since then, the Kurdish people’s leader has been kept in isolation in Imrali.

The Emergency Committee for Rojava organized the action, which was attended by Kurds and representatives of Kurdish solidarity institutions.

Many representatives, including the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA), Metro DC DSA (Metro DC Democratic Socialists of America), and Kurdistan National Congress member Seyit Rıza Dersimi (KNK), made statements.

The participants sent a message to the White House saying that "Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan has been in Imrali for 25 years and there has been no news from him for three years. The US also had a role in the kidnapping of Abdullah Öcalan and cannot shake off the responsibility for this. Abdullah Öcalan's aim is to make peace, but he is responded to with war. The international conspiracy still continues. There is not a single day that the Turkish state does not attack Medya Defense Areas and Rojava. We want Abdullah Öcalan's freedom and for the United States to end its complicity in the Turkish state's war against the Kurds."
