Kurds living in Europe take to the streets to protest the aggravated isolation of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Protest demonstrations in Germany, Britain, Belgium and France highlighted a demand for Öcalan's physical freedom and concerns over his current condition in the wake of the coup attempt of July 15. demonstrators also demanded an urgent meeting with the Kurdish leader in İmralı Island Prison.

HILDESHEIM

Kurds in the German city of Hildesheim held a tent demonstration organised by Democratic Kurdish Society Center. Demonstrators distributed leaflets demanding physical freedom for Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan, telling about the Turkish government's collaboration with ISIS. Calling on the people to not holiday in Turkey, they also protested some deals between Turkey and the EU, the refugee deal in the first place.

The tent demonstration will take place between 14:00-19:00 outside the St. Jakobi Church every Friday.

HAMBURG

Kurdish youths living in the German city of Hamburg gathered at Hamburg Sternschanse and initiated a mobilization against the aggravated isolation of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

The youths made the following statement before staging a torch march; "We will remain mobilized until Leader Apo is freed and we will be standing against every Turkish institution and the dark forces supporting the Turkish state and AKP to fulfill our mission and responsibility for Leader Apo's freedom. We call upon all the patriotic, revolutionary, socialist left-wing and democrat youths to join our protest with the spirit of mobilization."

LONDON

Kurdish youths in the British capital city London also took to the streets for Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan's freedom on the call of Komalên Ciwan Europe. Closing one of the busiest streets, Harringey, to traffic, youths condemned the ban of communication with Öcalan during the course of the State of Emergency.

With PKK and KCK flags and Öcalan's photos in their hands, youths protested the isolation and demanded the freedom of the Kurdish leader.

BRUSSELS

Democratic Society Congress and SKP held a joint demo in the Belgium capital city Brussels near the St. Josse Male Gel (People's House) Association. Demonstrators held a march to the accompaniment of slogans "Murderer Erdoğan", "Biji Serok Apo" [Long Live Leader Apo] and "Biji PKK".

The march continued until the Place du Luksemburg outside the EP where demonstrators made a statement to the press, demanding an immediate end to the isolation of Öcalan and vowing to continue their protests until a meeting with Öcalan is enabled.

PARIS

In French capital Paris, Evry Zinar Youth's Assembly organised a demo in front of St-Michel Notre Dame Church to protest the aggravated isolation of the Kurdish leader. Highlighting concerns over the condition of Öcalan in the wake of the attempted coup, protestors demanded physical freedom for the Kurdish leader. The demo was also supported by French street musicians.
