Kurds in Limassol pay tribute to martyrs of the Week of Heroism

The martyrs of the Week of Heroism were commemorated in the person of Mahsum Korkmaz (Egîd), the commander of the 15 August 1984 action, when the first bullet was fired against the Turkish state.

A commemoration program was held at the Theofilos Kurdish Cultural Center on the occasion of 28 March, Week of Heroism, in Limassol, Cyprus.

The commemoration program, which was organised by the Martyrs' Families Committee of the Kurdish People's Assembly of Cyprus, started with a minute’s silence in the person of the Kurdistan revolutionary martyrs who fell martyr during the Week of Heroism.

Huge posters of Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan and Mahsum Korkmaz, pictures of Kurdistan martyrs, PKK, HPG and YPG flags were hung in the hall where the commemoration program was held.

Martyr Families Commission spokesperson Remzi Pacraz and the families of the martyrs made speeches. A video about the Week of Heroism was presented. The program ended with slogans.
