Kurds in Stockholm called on the CPT to take action after the worrying news spread on social media about the health of Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan.
Kurds in Stockholm have been on the streets for the past two days demanding a statement about the state of health of Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan. The activists also demanded the Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT) to take action and required a clear statement about the situation of prisoners in Imralı.
A large picture of Abdullah Öcalan was hung on the bars at the crossroads on the square. Kurdish people carrying banners with the picture of Kurdish people's leader Öcalan shouted slogans condemning the Turkish state and demanding the release of Abdullah Öcalan.
Speakers from the Stockholm Democratic Kurdish Community Center reminded that Abdullah Öcalan was the architect of the peace talks between the PKK and the Turkish state.
Speakers also underlined that the Kurds in four parts are concerned about the health condition of Kurdish people's leader Öcalan, and demanded that he is granted visit with his lawyers and family and lawyers immediately.
