The sit-in which was launched by Kurdish activists in front of the United Nations (UN) office in Geneva, Switzerland last Wednesday will be concluded with a press release this evening (Apr. 29). A rally and march will be staged at Depuis Palais Wilson Square in Geneva tomorrow. As preparations for rallies in all cantons of Switzerland continue, the Association of Kurdish Women (YJK-S) and the CDK-S (Democratic Kurdish Community Center), the umbrella organization of Kurdish institutions in Switzerland, called on the Kurds and their friends to participate in the march and rally to be held in Geneva on Saturday.
“We invite the Kurds and their allies to the rally in order to oppose fascism and call for an end to war,” the YJK-S and the CDK-S said in a joint statement.
The rally will be held on Saturday, April 30 at 12:00 at Depuis Palais Wilson Square.
CALL FOR MAY DAY
The YJK-S and the CDK-S also called for everyone to bring fascism to account on May Day.
“The analysis of Capitalist Modernity articulated by the Democratic Modernity philosophy of Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan has made significant contributions to the philosophy of the 21st century and marked a new era. With this philosophy, all peoples, the oppressed, workers, women and youth will be able to reclaim their hope of revolution and an honourable future. We call on all our friends, laborers, workers, oppressed people, women and youth living in Switzerland, especially the Kurdish people, to stand up against occupation and genocidal attacks on May Day by embracing our Freedom Movement and the freedom guerrilla,” the statement said.
