Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) Co-Chair Gültan Kýþanak remarked that the government was distorting the facts while leading a political genocide operation against Kurds.
In a speech at the party’s group meeting, BDP Co-Chair Gültan Kýþanak noted that the AKP’s approach wasn’t any different from the medieval mentality and emphasized that governments wouldn’t live long if they didn’t pay attention to the needs of their peoples. Kýþanak said; “I believe that the poor, laborer and those fighting for democracy will overthrow the government which aims for the abuse of rights.”
Referring to the Foundation Convention of the Congress Initiative held on October 15 to 16 in Ankara, Kýþanak said that the congress organized itself as a true alternative against the monist and tutelage status quo imposed on us or against the postmodern status quo which is shown as an alternative. Kýþanak continued as follows; “The congress where all those assimilated, ignored and exiled gathered showed us how strong our hope is to free our future from the AKP hypothec. It appeared before the Turkey’s peoples as a common struggle and a true alternative. This congress is a rising that can direct the 21st century of the entire Middle East. Turkey could be a democratic and libertarian country by gathering all colors, identities, religions, beliefs and the rights of labor and women.”
Kýþanak also criticized the detentions in many cities and underlined that they were facing an operation and a political genocide which targeted all segments that struggle for democracy and had nothing to do with law or democracy. Kýþanak said that; “They should explain us the reason why more than five thousand journalists, politicians, trade unionists and council members are currently under arrest. Most of them were detained on fictional grounds such as “being member to an organization” or "praising crime and the criminal”. You can’t create a country on lies. Either admit your fascism or go away. The Prime Minister has got an understanding which bases on a monist mindset. He can’t govern this country in a democrat way without showing respect to all beliefs. He should either be democrat and respectful or admit that he approves a fascist, oppressive and monist system.”
Regarding the constitutional meeting tomorrow, Kýþanak underlined that the new constitution must be able to solve the Kurdish problem and create solutions by making radical changes.
