Answering journalists’ questions at the foundation convention of the Congress Initiative, BDP Co-Chair Gültan Kýþanak reacted strongly to the attempts made to close the party. Kýþanak said; “They can’t close the BDP, which received the votes of 3.5 million people, by means of such deceptions.”
Kýþanak added; “We are on streets to express our demands. Even if not seen valuable by some, the vote of 3.5 million is a criteria of democracy. Shame on those who think the contrary! ”
Describing the charges directed under the name of the KCK as a scenario, Kýþanak said the followings; “We are asking them for years to explain which a single weapon was found on any of more than five thousand arrested people who are the alleged members of the KCK which is claimed to be an armed organization. No one has the right to introduce a disapproved idea as a terror organization. Five thousand people, including 18 mayors, five deputies, tens of city councilors and thousands of party members, have been arrested since 2009 despite the fact that even a single evidence hasn’t been found since the beginning. They may disapprove the BDP or criticize it but they cannot close it through nonsense tricks. This is a cheat and arrangement by some centers that intend to provoke war in the new process we have entered.”
