The Labor and Freedom Alliance held a rally in Paris.
The Labor and Freedom Alliance met in Paris for a rally attended by thousands of people. The rally started with a minute’s silence. Amed candidate Berdan Öztürk was the guest speaker, while Green Left Party co-spokesperson Çiğdem Kılıçgün Uçar addressed the crowd via internet.
Representatives of the French Green Party and the French Communist Party participated in the rally and expressed their solidarity and support for the Green Left Party.
Vedat Bingöl spoke on behalf of the Paris Labor and Freedom Alliance Election Coordination, and emphasized that the 14 May election is historical in terms of paving the way for the democratization process against the 21-year AKP-MHP war government. He added that people in Paris could begin casting their vote on 27 April and called everyone to go to the polls.
Çiğdem Kılıçgün Uçar: We will change things together
Green Left Party co-spokesperson Çiğdem Kılıçgün Uçar said: "We will start the change together," and emphasized the importance of the people in Europe to vote.
Berdan Öztürk: The address of the solution is Imrali
Amed candidate Berdan Öztürk commemorated the Kurdish politicians who were killed in Paris, and said: "This election is also the struggle to get justice for these massacres."
Öztürk added: "Contrary to those who seek solutions in America, Russia or elsewhere, the address of the solution is Imrali."
