Lawyer Süleyman Şahin, who was among the 216 people for whom an arrest warrant was issued within the scope of an investigation carried out by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office in 21 provinces, was taken into custody in the courthouse where he went to give his statement on Thursday.
Lawyer Şahin was taken to Diyarbakır Courthouse on Thursday night and then transferred to the Criminal Judgeship of Peace with a request for release under judicial control measures. The request was accepted.
As part of the investigation carried out by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 191 people were detained in house raids in 21 cities on April 25 and more than 50 people, including journalists and lawyers, were arrested.
